A court of session is a supreme civil court
in Scotland, established in 1532. Cases come
in the first place before one of the judges
of the Outer House (corresponding to the High
Court in England and Wales), and from that
decision an appeal lies to the Inner House
(corresponding to the Court of Appeal) which
sits in two divisions called the First and
the Second Division.
